“It means a ton to me personally to earn the support of the Bike Club. As someone who bikes in the city every day, I’m grateful for all the work they have done to make Seattle a better, safer place for cyclists and pedestrians. If elected, I look forward to working with the Club as we confront the challenge of building a better transportation future for Seattle.
“I’m also honored to have the unanimous support of the local environmental community. I envision a Seattle where everyone is doing their part to save the environment and reduce global warming just by virtue of the simple fact that they live here. I believe with the right priorities, we can build a city where people use less energy and save money but get more out of their lives. We can do this through city policies that enable our citizens to their homes and offices more energy efficient and by building a transportation system where you can go almost anywhere with just a bus pass or a bicycle.
“If we make the right choices today, we can create a city that is a model for sustainability, affordability, and economic and cultural vitality.
“As your representative on the Seattle city council, this is the city I will work to build.”
