Campaign Update: great upcoming events

O'Brien For City CouncilWith the primary election exactly four weeks behind us and the general election just seven weeks away, we’re definitely entering the critical stage of this campaign.

I’m excited by the progress we’ve made in the last four weeks. There’s been a tremendous outpouring of help from volunteers who have come together at our new campaign headquarters to stuff envelopes, make phone calls, and assemble yards signs. And as I travel throughout the city for meetings and campaign events, it’s clear that my message of positive change for Seattle based on smart policies that are good for the economy, nurture our communities, and protect our environment is resonating with voters and donors.

We’ve also earned some important endorsements in the past week, winning the support of the 36th District Democrats, Seattle’s Metropolitan Democrats Club, and Planned Parenthood Votes! Washington.

This week includes a number of vitally important events. Your support at these events can make a huge difference:

Tonight (Tuesday), the 43rd District Democrats meet at 7pm at University Heights Community Center at 5031 University Way NE to select their slate of candidates for the November general election.

Thursday night, the 46th District Democrats will hold their endorsement meeting at 7:30pm at Olympic View Community Church at 425 NE 95th St.

Sunday, the Sierra Club is sponsoring a fundraising event for me, Mike McGinn, and Dow Constantine. The event will take place at the Spitfire Grill in Belltown from 6pm-9pm.

While you have to be a registered member to vote at either of the two district endorsement meetings, it’s great to have as many supporters show up as possible to connect with members and let them know about our shared vision for a better Seattle. The Sierra Club fundraiser promises to be a fun event, and a great place to meet people who believe in importance of creating a greener city.

Thanks for your continued support and I hope to see you at one of these events this week.

Mike
