New Labor Endorsements!

In the last two days, our campaign has received endorsements from many of Seattle’s unions, including the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Locals 6, 775, 925, and 1199; Teamsters Locals 174, 117, and 763; the Joint Council of Teamsters No. 28; and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local 15.

img_0008-1This is great news and I’m thrilled to receive broad support from these vitally important organizations, which work hard every day to protect the interests of working men and women in this city. Earlier in the campaign, I was endorsed by other labor organizations, including ILWU Local 52 and the Inland Boatman’s Union.

These endorsements, along with the support I’ve received from conservation groups such as the Sierra Club, Cascade Bicycle Club, Washington Conservation Voters, and Friends of Seattle; from pro-choice organizations such as NARAL and Planned Parenthood Votes!; and from a wide range of District Democrat groups is great evidence that I’m the candidate in this race who is truly committed to fighting for progressive values in Seattle.

I want to thank the unions that offered their support and endorsement this week. Your members work hard every day to make Seattle a great place to live, but too often, their voices and their needs are ignored by this city’s political leadership. With your support, I look forward to working equally hard to make sure that their interests are represented.
