THANKS! 10×1000 Challenge is Well Underway!

Published on March 7, 2012

Thank you to everyone who has joined me in the 10×1,000 Challenge so far!

Monday night (3/5) over 160 people turned out to the Hub in Pioneer Square to help us kick off the 10 x 1,000 Challenge. I am working to get 1,000 people on board giving $10 each, and we are well on our way. Including online contributions, we have over 250 people on board so far, and we’ve only just begun.

Now the real work begins. Getting out into your community, meeting with you and your neighbors, your friends and family. Hearing what you care about and sharing what I care about. Over the next two months I will be stopping by coffee shops, happy hours, house parties and just about anywhere else I’m invited. People are already getting creative. One of the attendees Monday night offered to host a costume themed kickball game. By running this campaign on people power, we won’t just be successful in this campaign, we’ll have a lot of fun in the process.

I remember the kick-off party for my first campaign in 2009. It was also a great event and I remember asking at the end of the night ‘how much money did we make?’ Last night, my first question was ‘how many people did we get?’ It is amazing how changing the metric for success makes you start asking different questions and changing the way you think about campaigning.

Please join me and over 250 others in the 10×1,000 Challenge today!
